Benefits of Robotics for Kids

Robotics is widely used as an effective tool to prepare STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) related productive and fun activities for kids, because of it’s multidisciplinary nature. As we all know that the world is changing rapidly and technology is growing every single second, but what we are doing to prepare our kids to cope up with this fast pace of technology. Homeschoolers, parents and schools around the world are trying different ways to prepare the kids for 21st century, but Robotics for kids seems to be a promising trick to prepare our kids for 21st century, because of following benefits of teaching robotics to kids from early ages,

Robotics Helps Kids to find their Passion

It is a multidisciplinary field, where kids get the opportunity to work in different fields at the same time that’s why robotics is used as a tool to prepare STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) curriculum all over the world. To make a simple robot, kids should know about programming, mechanical designing, electronics and science of sensors used is the robot. The most important thing is the look and feel of the robot that enhance kids artistic sense and imagination. Kids will get the exposure of different fields while working on Robotics that will help them to practically work in different field and then realize which field is best for them to explore further. This is the most practical way for our kids to find their interest and passion that they want to pursue in their future.

Robotics Teaches Team Work and Collaboration

Team work or collaboration is one of the essential skill that we must teach to our kids. While working on robotics, kids have to work in a team due to it’s multidisciplinary nature. Some kids working on programming side of the robot while the other working on the mechanical or electronics side of the robot. While working with different mindset, our kids practically start learning how to work with each other and how to manage team to complete the project on time. Such type of activities helps the kids to understand the importance of teamwork and collaboration and train them to become the future leaders.

Robotics Teaches Problem Solving and Perseverance

Problem solving and perseverance attitude help our kids in their professional and personal life. The beauty of working in robotics is that it allows our kids to make mistakes again and again and give them an opportunity to think out-of-the-box to come up with the unique solutions to solve the particular problem. Since robotics is fun and interactive for kids, that’s why kids try their best to make it work even after failing many times. Such practice of failing again and again and thinking new ways to make the robot works, help our kids to become problem solver, critical thinker and most importantly develop the attitude of perseverance.
